Hi new students,
One week until school begins! I know most of you won't read this until after school has started, but at least at that point this will be done and you can learn a little bit about me. I'm Mrs. McAdam. This is my 8th year teaching. I actually went to St. Mary as a student and spent my first year teaching at St. Mary too. Since then, I've been at Notre Dame in Ajax before switching back to St. Mary this year. I teach grade 9 and 10 science (mostly 10) and chemistry (both at the university and college level). I have a degree in chemistry and I'm a really big science geek, which I've come to accept as something great.
My schedule this semester:
Period 1 - Prep (you can find me in 229 A)
Period 2 - Grade 10 Academic Science (Room 201)
Period 3 - Grade 12 College Chemistry (Room 236)
Period 4 - Grade 10 Academic Science (Room 237)
I try to give as much extra help time as possible. I will be available in the mornings before school (again you can find me in 229 A - the science prep room), and during lunch and after school upon request. We'll come up with a more specific after school schedule during the first week, and there is also science help available once a week for any student in a science class (more details to come).
This course site will be updated until a D2L account can be setup and organized - from there you'll be able to access everything you'll need from the course, submit work, and ask questions. I will try to post PowerPoint files a few days before the lesson so you can review, along with any important dates for assignments, quizzes, tests and reviews you need to be successful in your course.
For daily homework reminders and study hints, follow me at @mrsmcadam on Twitter. I will NOT follow you back, and please make sure your username is your first/last name so I can recognize and add you that day (If I think you're a random creeper, I won't add you to my class list). This is NOT my personal account, but one that I only use for homework and reminders throughout the semester.
Wishing everyone a great last week of summer and excellent start to your new school year.
