Useful Links
Mrs. McAdam (and Mrs. Taylor) love Hank from "Crash Course", and many of the videos I will add this year will be from his YouTube channel, which you can find HERE. He's got a specific chemistry page, a biology page, an ecology page, and his brother does literature and history (if you're into that sort of thing). They also have a page called "Sci Show" which answers all your weird science questions you probably asked me during the grade 10 biology unit (like "I heard you can drink you're own pee" or "why do we get hungover"). You can find that HERE.
If you yourself find a great useful link - whether it be good review material, another way to do a type of chemistry problem, or just some geeky science goodness, please feel free to pass it along. I'll review it, and add it to the list!

Grade 9-11 Review Material
Unit 1: Organic Chemistry
- Carbon & Organic Intro (used for an intro to biochemistry, but still good, except he says chem is below bio...we know that's not at all true. No matter what Mrs. Taylor says.)
- Cool Combustions (that Mrs. McAdam is no longer able to do in the lab...something about too much fire or cancer...)
- Chem Sketch (details about downloading and tips for use available in the "science blog" section of this site.
Unit 2: Structure & Properties of Matter
- The History of the Atom (from Democritus to Heisenberg)
- More Atomic Theory Review (to country music! Everybody sing!)
- Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle
- Schrodinger's Cat
- Lewis Diagrams (4:16 onward)
- VSEPR Shapes Animation (set to really calm music that makes me relaxed)
- Atoms, Energy & Types of Bonds
- Orbitals & Quantum Mechanics
- Sigma and Pi bonds (this guy really loves balloons!)
- Polarity Review (up to 4:41)
- Properties of Water based on polarity (after 4:41)
- Properties of Liquids
- Properties of Solids and here
Unit 3: Energy Changes & Rates of Reaction
Unit 4: Chemical Systems & Equilibrium
Unit 5: Electrochemistry
